Terms of Service

Last updated: February 18, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the LazyLocales platform at lazylocales.com, the LazyLocales CLI, API, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

LazyLocales is an AI-powered translation management platform that helps developers manage internationalization (i18n) JSON files. The Service includes a web dashboard, a CLI tool, and an API for automating translations using third-party AI providers.

3. Account registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

The Service uses a Bring Your Own Key model for AI translation. You provide your own API keys from supported AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral). You are responsible for:

  • Compliance with your AI provider's terms of service and usage policies.
  • Any costs incurred from API usage with your provider.
  • Ensuring your API keys are valid and have sufficient quota.

LazyLocales encrypts your API keys at rest and does not use them for any purpose other than executing translation requests on your behalf.

5. Your content

You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload to the Service, including source locale files, translation keys, and generated translations. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service (e.g., sending source text to your configured AI provider for translation).

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable law.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Access accounts or data belonging to other users without authorization.
  • Use the Service to generate content that is harmful, abusive, or violates third-party rights.
  • Exceed reasonable usage limits or abuse the API in a manner that degrades the Service for others.

7. API tokens

API tokens generated through the Service are credentials that grant access to your project data. You are responsible for keeping tokens secure. Treat them like passwords — do not commit them to version control or share them publicly. We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from compromised tokens.

8. Availability and support

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LazyLocales shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the dashboard or contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms the Service or other users.

Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles.
